Product Description 

The optical mouse can operate out of the box immediately after you plug the receiver USB connector into your PC USB port. If it can’t work, please follow the steps below to process ID setting of the optical mouse. For more detailed information, please refer to Pairing Procedure

The optical mouse can operate freely up to a radius of about 1.5m or 4.5 feet from the receiver. They will finally free you of the constraints of your desktop by providing a wireless connection between your mouse and PC. Pass around the mouse during meetings without having to bother about a cable blocking your way or surf the Internet from the comfort of your living room couch!

This multi-function optical mouse is with the wheel for quick scrolling and 4th and 5th buttons for extra functions. Moreover, this optical mouse is anti-dust to prevent the interference caused by dust. All these human-oriented characteristics make you feel more comfortable and efficient while surfing on the website or using applications. After the MouseMaestro driver installed, you will have "Mouse Quick Jump Menu" by clicking the "Mouse Middle Button / Scroll Wheel" to call the most often-used functions in the Internet, Multimedia, and Office. Please install the MouseMaestro input Device Driver to find more great functions!

This mouse is compatible with Windows® 98SE, Windows® ME, Windows® 2000 or Windows® XP.

For Windows® 98SE operating system, please download and install the “MouseMaestro Input Device Driver” to have the mouse 4th button and 5th button functions.

For Windows® ME, Windows® 2000 and Windows® XP operating system, you could use the mouse immediately after plugging the receiver connector into PC. If you want to enjoy the full potentiality function of the mouse, please download and install the “MouseMaestro Input Device Driver”.

In order to enjoy the full potentiality of the optical mouse, please read this Help file carefully.

Hardware Installation

  1. Just directly plug the USB connector into the USB port on PC.

  1. Make sure the batteries of the mouse are installed correctly. Please follow the polarity signs in the battery compartment.

Remarks:
1. The mouse uses 2pcs standard UM-3 (AA) 1.5V alkaline batteries.
2. Mouse battery life is up to1-1.8 months. It depends on the intensity of usage.

 

 

MouseMaestro Input Device Driver Installation

The USB device driver is included in Windows operating system. 

During initial installation of the USB device, the system will automatically detect a new hardware being added, and then bring up "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialogue box. Please follow the Wizard's USB driver installation steps. Once this installation step is completed the basic functions of the USB device will work under the operating system. The additional functions are provided only after the MouseMaestro application is installed.

  1. After you download the driver, please find the “SetupKey.exe” in the directory and double-click this file.

  2. Then follow the on-screen instruction to install the driver.

  3. The driver icon will show at the right-bottom in the Windows system tray when the driver is loaded.

 

 

MouseMaestro Input Device Driver Uninstallation

Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver.

  1. Right-click the driver icon  on the taskbar and select "Exit" command to exit the driver program.

  2. Click "Start" menu (on the left-bottom in the taskbar).

  3. Move cursor to "Programs" in "Start" menu.

  4. Move cursor again to "MouseMaestro".

  5. Select "Uninstallation".

  6. Click "Yes" to confirm you want to uninstall.

 

 

Pairing Procedure

The optical mouse can operate out of the box immediately after you plug the receiver USB connector into your PC USB port. If it can’t work, please follow the steps below to process ID setting of the optical mouse.

The pairing button locates on top of the receiver with a LED under to show the pairing or data reception status. The ID-recognition function helps to protect against interference from other RF products in the same environment. Remember to pair ID when other RF products affect your mouse.

  1. Press the pairing button on top of the receiver first.
  2. Next, press the pairing button on the bottom of the mouse once.
  3. The receiver LED will blink rapidly for some time to indicate it has received pairing information.
  4. When you move the mouse, the receiver LED will blink rapidly. When you stop using the mouse, the receiver LED will light steadily.

    Note:

    - The whole procedure should be completed within 35 seconds.

    - Make sure your PC is on and running when doing the pairing procedure.

Battery Low Alarm

When the mouse battery is low, the RED LED indication under mouse scroll wheel will light up while the mouse is moving. Please change batteries immediately when the RED LED indication lights up to ensure the good use of this mouse. After you change the batteries, the RED LED indication will disappear.

Usage Information

  1. Don't warp receiver cable around monitor or LCD panel base.

  2. Don't intertwine receiver cable with power cables.

  3. Don't bundle or bind receiver cable with other signal cables.

  4. Don't extend receiver cable unless absolutely necessary, and let receiver cable run free from other cables.

When the signal between the receiver and mouse suspends over 8 minutes, the mouse would fall into sleep mode. To wake up the mouse, just simply click on any key of it.

 

Mouse Button Functions

 

Besides normal mouse left and right key, this mouse also provides a scroll wheel, the 4th and 5th key for other features.

Scroll Wheel 

Page up

Page Down

works as mouse scrolling function. You can use the up and down function of the Scroll Wheel to scroll the document vertically.

 The 4th Key Back returns to the last page you viewed.
The 5th Key Forward views the next page you viewed before.

The mouse button functions and its combination keys function are described as below:

Scroll Wheel Up Scroll Up

works as mouse scrolling function. You can use the up function of the Scroll Wheel to scroll the document vertically.

Scroll Wheel Down Scroll Down

works as mouse scrolling function. You can use the down function of the Scroll Wheel to scroll the document vertically.

Mouse Middle Button / Scroll Wheel Mouse Quick Jump Menu

opens the "Mouse Quick Jump Menu".

Double click Middle Button WWW

opens the default Internet browser.

Middle + Left Scroll Left

works as mouse scrolling function. You can use the left function of the Scroll Wheel to scroll the document horizontally. Please press and hold "Mouse Middle Button / Scroll Wheel" first and then click mouse left button to use this function.

Middle + Right Scroll Right

works as mouse scrolling function. You can use the right function of the Scroll Wheel to scroll the document horizontally. Please press and hold "Mouse Middle Button / Scroll Wheel" first and then click mouse right button to use this function.

Middle + Wheel Up Scroll Left

works as mouse scrolling function. You can use the left function of the Scroll Wheel to scroll the document horizontally. Please press and hold "Mouse Middle Button / Scroll Wheel" first and then scroll the wheel up to use this function. 

Middle + Wheel Down Scroll Right

works as mouse scrolling function. You can use the right   function of the Scroll Wheel to scroll the document horizontally. Please press and hold "Mouse Middle Button / Scroll Wheel" first and then scroll the wheel down to use this function.

 

Mouse Quick Jump Functions

After installing MouseMaestro Input Device Driver, you can press "Mouse Middle Button / Scroll Wheel" to pop up the "Mouse Quick Jump Menu". By clicking on this "Quick Jump Menu", you can easily access different Functions. 

There are five items including Internet, Multimedia, Office, Dual Wheel, and Exit in the inner circle. When moving the cursor onto each items, different functions will pop up at the outer circle. Please refer to the following descriptions:

Functions like WWW, WWW Favorite, WWW Search, Email, WWW Refresh, WWW Back, WWW Forward, WWW Stop are included. 

WWW To start your Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 (or above) and bring up the home page you set.
WWW Favorite To select a web page from your list of favorites.
WWW Search To gain access to a number of search providers.
Email To open the default program you use for mail.
WWW Refresh Refreshes the current Web page to make sure you have the latest Web page.
WWW Back To return the last page you viewed.
WWW Forward To view the next page you’ve viewed before.
WWW Stop If a page you’re trying to view is taking too long to open, click this button to stop.

Functions like Volume Down, Volume Up, Mute, Previous Track, Next Track, Play/Pause, Stop, and Eject/Close are included.

Volume Up

Control the volume to down or up of your audio output of speakers.
Mute Mute or resume sound output
Previous Track Skip backward to the previous track.
Next Track Skip forward to the next track.
Play / Pause Play file in the current track. Press again to pause.
Stop Stop playing.
Eject / Close Eject the CD tray. Press again to close tray cover.

Functions like Word, Excel, Power Point, Calendar, Calculator, and Shortcut 1~ Shortcut 4 are included.

Word Opens Microsoft Word.
Excel Opens Microsoft Excel.
Power Point Opens Microsoft PowerPoint.
Calendar Opens "Calendar" function of Microsoft Outlook Express.

This can provide you to create easy accesses to the documents and programs you use most often.

Note: The default setting for each Shortcut button is different. For example, Shortcut 1 is to launch Windows accessory program “My Documents”, Shortcut 2 is to launch "Calculator", Shortcut 3 is to "Explorer", and Shortcut 4 is to "Notepad".

Click on to quit “Quick Jump” function.

Click on  to switch to “Dual Wheel” function. This function can be used in Internet or Word application... etc. to move the cursor up/down & left/right. Click on this icon again to return normal mouse function.

 

 

Commands in the Menu

If you right-click on the MouseMaestro icon in the Windows system tray, the driver commands menu will pop up with the following commands.

Click on this command, a customization dialogue box will pop up with the following functions. 

1.  Select A HotKey

This function contains the default function of a key. You can click on the "Display Label" to re-define the key functions. When you click it, a Configure Button box will appear.

In the "Button Label" box, type the name of application that the button will launch, or any name that will help you remember the function of the button. This label will appear on screen each time you press the button.

You can see a list of pre-defined functions and set one of it for the button.

Type in the path to an often-used application or click the Browse button to select any file in your computer. If you want to attach a web page to the button, just simply type in the website address in the dialogue box.

In many Windows application, there are many hot keys to execute some often-used commands. Some of the hot keys are combined with two keys pressed simultaneously, and some are three. It is not easy to press and to remember those hot keys. Now you can define those complicated hot keys you always forgot. Any kind of combination is available. For example,
[Alt] + [F4] = close window,
[Ctrl] + [A] = select all.

You may define the button as a string of texts that needs to be input often. The maximum characters are 500. Taking good advantages of this function can save much your text input time and makes your works more efficient.

2.  Enable Display Label

This command is to show or hide the OSD (On Screen Display). When the OSD is enabled, each time you press any one of the multimedia buttons, its function name (button label) will show on the right-bottom corner on the screen. The default status of this function is enabled.

3.  Enable Taskbar Icon

This command is to show or hide the taskbar driver icon. When the function is enabled, you can see a driver icon its function name (button label) will show on the right-bottom corner of the screen. If you want to reload it again, you can select Start Programs MouseMaestro Configure to launch it. The default status of this function is enabled.

4.  Enable Auto Play

This command is to show or hide the auto play function. When the function is enabled, Microsoft Media Player will show on the screen after you press the “Play” key of the multimedia keys. For Winamp user, you can use the multimedia keys to control Winamp function after you call out Winamp and disable Auto play function. The default status of this function is disabled.

If the mouse does not work properly during play games or launch applications, you can cancel the check of this mouse item to see if the mouse work well or not.

Select this command to exit from this driver program, but not to remove (uninstall). After you restart your system, the driver will be loaded again.

In case you have some troubles on installing other programs, we recommend you to exit this Input Device Driver firstly in order to have a cleaner system environment.

 

 

Driver Troubleshooting

1. Symptom: The mouse software does not work properly

    Solution: 

- Please make sure if there are any other mouse drivers installed. Remove all mouse driver first and re-install this mouse software to solve the problem.

2. Symptom: Add/Remove mouse software or Re-install

    Solution: 

- After installing the mouse software, the mouse driver icon will display in the system tray. If you want to reinstall the software for some reasons, you must delete the mouse driver from your operating system first. Note: If you want to upgrade your mouse software or it does not work properly, you can re-install it to fix this problem.

3. Symptom: Other software applications can not be installed properly

    Solution: 

- If it is failed to install other software applications, you have to remove the mouse driver from your system memory by right-clicking on the mouse driver icon and select "Exit". Then install the desired software applications. After completing the new software installation, restart your computer and then the mouse driver icon will show in the right-bottom taskbar.

4. Symptom: CD or Multimedia Player can not be launched

    Solution: 

- Make sure CD or Video software and hardware for these functions are properly installed in your system.

5. Symptom: Multimedia Player can not play VCD title or MPEG file

    Solution:

- Make sure you have installed Windows Media Player version 7 or later properly. If not, please download the Windows Media Player version 7 or later from Microsoft Web site.

6. Symptom: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Calendar cannot do action, but the onscreen can show up

    Solution: 

- Please make sure you have installed the Office Applications completely. If Office Applications are not fully installed, those keys can only see the onscreen display and do not work.
