KeyMaestro Input Device Driver

 

Congratulations on your purchase of this Multimedia keyboard. This keyboard contains a  power management key and Multimedia keys. In order to use these keys under Microsoft® Windows® 98, it is necessary to have "KeyMaestro Input Device Driver" installed.

Software Installation

The USB device driver is included in Windows operating system.

During initial installation of the USB mouse, the system will automatically detect a new hardware being added, and then bring up "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialogue box. Please follow the Wizard's USB driver installation steps. Once this installation step is completed the basic functions of the mouse will work under the operating system. The additional functions are provided after the application is installed.

  1. Double click on the "Setupkey.exe".

  2. Follow the on-screen instruction to install the driver. 

  3. The default installation path is set to c:\ Program Files\ KMaestro. You have the option to change the install path during setup. 

  4. The driver icon will show on the Windows system tray when the driver is loaded. 

 

Uninstallation

Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver.

  1. Right-click the KeyMaestro driver icon on the task bar and select "Exit" command to exit the driver program.

  2. Click "Start" menu (on the left-bottom of the taskbar).

  3. Move cursor to "Programs" in "Start" menu.

  4. Move cursor again to "KeyMaestro".

  5. Select "Uninstallation". 

  6. Click "Yes" to confirm you want to uninstall.

 

Hot Key Blocks Feature

Besides the usual keys, this keyboard also has extra-dedicated keys, which provide multimedia and sleep functions. 

In order to use these keys under Microsoft® Windows® 98, it is necessary to have "KeyMaestro Input Device Driver" installed.

Your keyboard has the power management “Sleep” key. It also can be called ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) key.

As this key is performed not completely under Microsoft® Windows® 98, the KeyMaestro driver provides an option to enable this key. When the option is enabled, the driver will take Windows' place to process this key. 

Sleep

puts your system into sleep (power-saving) mode.

Any key will wake up your system and return to the previous working status. 

        There is a row of multimedia keys on the top of the keyboard. The functions are described as below:

        

volup.gif (2782 bytes) Volume up adjusts the volume up.
Note: This key can’t be reprogrammable.
voldown.gif (2814 bytes) Volume down adjusts the volume down.
Note: This key can’t be reprogrammable.

Mute

mutes or resume sound output.
Note: This key can’t be reprogrammable.

 

 

Commands in the Menu

If you click on the KeyMaestro icon on the taskbar, a menu will pop up with the following commands. 

*Select A HotKey

This function contains the default function of a key.
