Using Three Power Management Buttons
Congratulations on your purchasing this multimedia keyboard. With three power management buttons, this keyboard is energy-efficient to control the system's power. The better is, this keyboard puts you in the driver's seat with the special keys for multimedia and the Internet. Access the WWW Home, Search, or My Favorite at the touch of a key, control speaker volume and CD functions. Plus, save valuable mouseclicks with the dedicated Shortcut key to your most commonly used application. You'll discover your performance will be enhanced to a high level with this keyboard for multimedia and the Web.
To use these multimedia buttons, you have to install KeyMaestro multimedia keyboard driver first.
Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver.
Your keyboard has the power management keys which are Power off, Sleep, and Wake up three keys. They are also can be called ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) keys.
Note: There are other situations for the users of Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95 and Windows 98, please refer to the section ACPI Key Enabled for more detailed information.

Power off | closes the operating system and powers down the system. P.S. Although this key is a standard key under Windows 98, Windows 98 processes it as a Sleep key. |

Sleep | puts your system to sleep (power-saving) mode. Any key will wake up your system and
return to the previous working status. P.S. Windows NT 4.0 does not support Sleep function. This key will be processed as Power Off by KeyMaestro driver if the option is enabled. |

Wake up | wakes up your system and returns to the previous working status. |
There are a row of multimedia keys on the top of keyboard. The functions are described as below.
Note: These keys are reprogrammable (except Volume up, Volume down and Mute). They can be configured as a string, a combination key, a web site, an existing file, or a function the driver pre-defines for you. To reconfigure these keys, click the KeyMaestro icon on the taskbar to select Configuration 1 or Configuration 2 command.

WWW Home | launches to your Internet Browser application which should be pre-installed. If you have installed two browsers in your system, the system default one will be opened. Mostly the system default is the later installed one. |

Shortcut | provides you to create an easy access to the documents and programs you use most often. The default setting for Shortcut button is to launch Windows accessory program 'Notepad'. |

Previous / Fast Backward | skips backward to the previous file/track or play backward fast when pressing once quickly. But, if you are using 'Vendor Player', you have to press and hold the button and then the file/track will play backward fast (The 'Vendor Player' is only for Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT4.0 users). |

Stop | stops the playing. |

Play/Pause | presses this button to play Audio CD or Video CD, or to pause it. When it is paused, you may press the button again to resume it from the current position. |
If you click the KeyMaestro icon on the
taskbar, a menu will pop up with the following options.
Note: There are only 'OSD Enable', 'OSD Color', 'Help', 'About' and 'Exit' functions will affect when you are running under Windows 2000, Windows ME or Windows XP.
After installing the KeyMaestro driver, the KeyMaestro driver offers "Vendor Player" for the users of Windows NT4.0, Windows 95 and Windows 98. The default of this player in driver is "Vendor Player Enabled". You can press the "Volume up", "Volume down", "Mute", "Previous/Fast Backward", "Stop", "Next/ Fast Forward", "Eject" and "Play/Pause" buttons to control these functions on "Vendor Player" directly. And, the OSD of these buttons will display on the screen.
However, if you want to use the Microsoft Windows built-in player
instead of "Vendor player", please click the KeyMaestro driver icon on the right-bottom taskbar and select "Vendor
Player Enabled" to disable it first. And, you can select the Microsoft CD
Player in the "Start Menu".
When you are using the Microsoft CD Player, there are only "volume up",
"volume down" and "mute" functions can be controled by "volume
up", "volume down" and "mute" buttons. The OSD of these
three buttons will display on the screen.
The ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) keys, Power off, Sleep, Wake up, are the power management keys of your keyboard; they are processed and performed by Windows, not KeyMaestro driver.
As these ACPI keys are performed not completely under Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0; the KeyMaestro driver provides an option to enable the ACPI keys. When the option is enabled, the driver will take Windows' place to process these keys.
The default state of this option is eabled. If you want to disable the option, click the 'KeyMaestro' icon on the taskbar and then select 'ACPI Key Enabled' command. Depending on your system compatibility in ACPI, you may decide whether the ACPI keys are enabled and performed by driver or not.
In case some errors occur or system hang due to setting conflict or other unpredictable reasons, you had better disable the ACPI keys and check the motherboard setting of ACPI.
This command is to show or hide the OSD (On Screen Display). When the OSD is enabled, each time you press any one of the multimedia buttons, its function name (button label) will show on the left-bottom corner on the screen.
There are part of the multimedia keys are performed by Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP directly. At this time, the OSD will not be displayed on the screen.
This command is to set the color of the OSD. You can select a favorite color to distinguish from the background.
These two commands are to change the settings for the Multimedia keys.
There are two Configuration windows, you can see the reprogrammable buttons lining there. The names in the first column are the fixed button names and the names in the second column are the Button Label showing the current settings. Click on the button you wish to reconfigure. The Button Customization dialog box will appear.

You may define the button as a string of texts which needs to be input often. The maximum characters are 3000. Taking good advantages of this function can save much your text input time and makes your works more efficient.
As a combination key
In many Windows application, there are many hot keys to execute some often used commands. Some of the hot keys are combined with two keys pressed simultaneously. It is not easy to press and to remember those hot keys. Now you can define those complicated hot keys you always forgot. Any kind of combination is available. For example,
[Alt] + [F4] = close window,
[Ctrl] + [A] = select all.Type in a web site address
If you want to attach a web page to the button, select 'Type in a web site address' and type in the URL of the page in the 'Address' field or click the Favorite button to select the web page from your favorites.
Select a file on your computer
Type in the path to an often used application or click the Browse button to select any file on your computer.
Pre-defined Functions
You can click 'Select' button to see the list of pre-defined functions and set one of it for this button, or you can click the 'Default' button to set back to be the original pre-defined function.
In the Button Label box on top of window, type the name of application that the button will launch, or any name that will help you remember the function of the button. This label will appear on screen each time you press the button.
Click 'OK' to confirm your selection
Select this command to bring up this Help file you are viewing now.
Select this command to see the information of this KeyMaestro driver, including the version number and web site which you can update the driver.
Select this command to exit from this driver program, but not to remove (uninstall). After you restart your system, the driver will be loaded again.
If you really want to remove (uninstall) the driver, you have to exit this program first. Please refer to the Uninstallation section above.
In case you have some troubles on installing other programs, we recommend you to exit this multimedia driver firstly in order to have a cleaner system environment.
